When I was invited to view Michael Perlin’s well-crafted documentary film, which asks the audience to chant en masse, the magical 3-word mantra,  I admit, I was skeptical for two reasons. First, because I believed the film would be very polarizing and threatening to religious conservatives, and second, as a follower of “A Course in Miracles,” I have been very comfortable believing I was a child of God in whom God is well pleased, but to say I am actually God himself, well, wasn’t that blasphemous? As it turns out, the only blasphemy here is to sell ourselves short of the infinite power we possess. In 3 Magic Words, different people are asked, “Who am I?” and through interviews with authors, vignettes of a gorgeous young truth-seeker (Gabriella Ethereal), and visual art and motion graphics, we begin to piece together a feeling-realization that we are the one life, the one truth, the one way, and only within our own minds can we solve the mystery of existence. The film is imperfect: it suffers from a lack of technical prowess at certain points; the dramatic sequences with Ms. Ethereal pull us out of the film’s narrative (mainly because she is a bit too sexy for the subject matter); and occasional speeches from the film’s host (Cameron Smith) are static, dry, and without any visual cutaways, which led this viewer to become impatient. Overall, however, the message is not damaged by these shortcomings. The dozens of interviews never seemed overwhelming and broken into bite sized chunks. The humorous quips of author Gary Renard bring a much-needed levity to the film, as most of the speakers are more serious in tone. The musical score adds enchantment and mystery as the film builds to its central message. The visual palette is often rich, and the authors, such as Kute Blackson and Neale Donald Walsch, appear as specters, floating beings, in tropical landscapes. This device works well, and keeps us in a contemplative mood, preparing us to know that we are Divine. All in all, the film, at a running time of 71 minutes, does keep us engaged, and offers hungry spiritual viewers a feast of  words and images upon which we can digest, and when the film finally arrives at its main point, we are prepped and ready to own it. Some of the funniest moments in the film come when Perlin interviews people on the street, asking them if they are okay with being God. Predictably, they are not ready for that responsibility. The film also hammers home the message that once we take responsibility for the fact that we are creating our own personal suffering by inflicting pain upon others and our environment (from which we are not separate), we can truly have the peace and joy that we all desire.

The movie also has the potential to convince people that we are not simply bodies, and bodies are only a reflection of what we want to see. In truth we are limitless. This concept is one that may perturb the mind of one who has yet to taste the divine, but those who are ready, will enjoy it immensely. Perlin and his producer Maura Hoffman, plan to tour the film across the U.S. this fall and then in London this December. The film is also available on DVD and streaming through their website. An ambitious effort like this, which took four years to produce, is not as easy to make as it looks, as the film has dozens of authors interviewed, many locations, and many minutes of graphics and effects which are time consuming to create. If you have the financial means, I recommend funding filmmakers like Perlin to make more projects with these messages.As for my skepticism as to the mass appeal of this film and its polarizing nature, I’ve realized people are more prepared than I previously thought. As the Course in Miracles says, “A good teacher must believe in the ideas he teaches, but he must meet another condition; he must believe in the students to whom he offers the ideas.” Michael Perlin truly believes in us and trusts us with his message: We are God.Seekers (and finders) of truth will be well pleased with this offering from Starseed Films,  You can watch the film from the website: www.3magicwordsmovie.com

The Declaration Of Consciousness

We have won! Consciousness has won a long war after so many battles through the history of humanity.” Thus began The Declaration ofConsciousness announcement delivered in London on December 21, 2012, as part of the European premiere of the movie, “3Magic Words.”The Declaration of Consciousness was drafted by eight people from different cultural backgrounds. Tapasyogi Nandi from India and Michael Perlin of the United States invited others they knew were involved in consciousness movements to meet together in Joshua Tree, California, in September 2012. Other co-writers included Melissa Athens, and Laura Fox of the United States; Vitaly Safarov and Bell Beatrice of the United Kingdom; and Gudni Gudnason of Japan. Together they wrote the manifesto and agreed on two ambitious goals: they want to gather ten million signatures and,secondly, they plan to present the document to the United Nations. The gathering of signatures began on the day of its announcement in London. The core founders of the document and those attending the ceremony signed at that time.The original Declaration of Consciousness was then placed in the world’s largest esoteric library, located in the Damanhur Community in the Piedmont area ofNorthern Italy.The Declaration has now been translated into 58 languages and is circulating worldwide. The public at large is invited and encouraged to add their support through signing electronically on the organization’s website. The Declaration of Consciousness is a call for all the people of earth to come together in love and unity. As part of this process, the document supports the following principles:•The settling of disputes based on inalienable universal human rights.

•Honoring the feminine.
•Respect for the elderly.
•The ending of all wars.
•Encouragement of love for all people regardless of their race, religion or culture.
•The protection of our planet through changes in energy systems.
•The reduction of consumption to avoid pollution.
•New systems of ecological and sustainable distribution of resources.
•The provision of benefits of the world’s resources more equally to all peoples.

Two historic documents served as starting points for the coalition who wrote The Declaration of Consciousness. The first was The Declaration of Rights enacted inEngland in 1689 to protect individuals and the parliament from the tyranny of the monarchy. Thomas Jefferson then referred to this document when he wrote theDeclaration of Independence in 1776. The momentum for recognition of basic human dignity has been building for over 300 years and the critical mass in the consciousness of humanity is rising. The time for action has arrived.The creators of the Declaration are dedicated to elevating the overall consciousness level worldwide. The movie,“3 Magic Words,” produced by the main author, Michael Perlin, lays some of that consciousness-raising groundwork. The documentary film is based on ancient mystical teachings and spirituality. Perlin explains that he was searching for something simple and easy to understand that would tie together all the spiritual teachings from all cultures. He feels that religion divides and spirituality unites. The movie is about self realization and using that power to change yourself and the world. This week I came across a film called ‘3 magic words‘. As a willful toddler my 3 magic words were probably ‘Yes I can’. As a romantic teenager they were ‘I love you’. As a Mum they might be ‘Can I help?’ As a seeking Spiritual Being they’re more along the lines of ‘Who am I’? Fortunately you don’t have to wonder for much longer because co-producers Michael Perlin and Maura Hoffman along with some amazing spiritual teachers promise to deliver the 3 magic words which will change your life and change the world. Michael Perlin’s interest in such things started when he was involved with metaphysical studies. He noticed that there were similarities in the themes from spiritual teachers and cultures all around the world. At the same time there are so many different beliefs and ideas, therefore Michael’s burning goal became to find a common theme and something simple that would bring everything together. He then came across ‘Three magic words: The Key to Power, Peace and Plenty”‘ by Uell Stanley Andersen which contained the message he was looking for and set him on the path to making a film. The film took 4 years to make and from hours of fascinating mystical conversation, Perlin and Hoffman condensed the most important messages into an inspirational film. As with all things in life, it’s up to you how you take the message; once you know they words they can be used to completely transform yourself, how you live on the planet and how you treat the planet and others on it. It can be an awakening experience if you choose…

What I like about Perlin is his optimism. With 2012 on the horizon he knows people are expecting a change or shift and he believes that a few people having that in collective conciousness, along with the messages of his film can be enough to cause the 100th monkey phenomenon. Perlin is quick to point out you don’t need any esoteric or spiritual beliefs to benefit from the film. Hoffman is one of the most uplifting and beautiful souls I have heard speak. ‘3 magic words’ is her mission, a gift from her heart to the world. Her enthusiasm is infectious and it was due to her relationships with many incredible spiritual authors and teachers to bring their insight and wisdom to the film that bought everything together. As she points out ‘it’s the essence of what they bring, not what they say’ that makes the film what it is. Hoffman reminds us that this film isn’t just a talking film, it’s an experience and she invites you to ask yourself who you really are and to look at your purpose here. It’s an opportunity for you to take a look at your own life and to decide who you truly are and who you want to be… Perlin promises that if you have any worries in your life, once you’ve watched this you’ll be taken beyond your ego where your problems no longer exist. The film delivers evolutionary awakenings, phenomenal music and beautiful cinematography to inspire and awaken whatever truth is emerging from within you.
